How do you define greatness? The first disciples had some misconceptions about rank and status in God’s kingdom. Our own cultural mindset elevates certain roles and accomplishments as signs of greatness. We celebrate those who win first place; we long for the highest position or rank. Jesus helps his disciples, and us, reimagine greatness by pointing to some unlikely people. The way of Jesus turns our ambition for greatness upside down.
