Born and raised in Texas, Austin attended North Park University and in 2007, received his undergraduate degrees in Biblical and Theological Studies, and Accounting. In 2011, Austin completed his Masters of Divinity degree at North Park Theological Seminary. After 10 years serving in pastoral ministries for covenant churches in Texas and Connecticut, Austin accepted the call in October 2021 to be Lead Pastor of Pine Lake Covenant Church.
Austin met his wife Ashley in 2004 and they were married in her home state of Connecticut in 2007. They have two daughters, Ellie and Gwen, and a son, Stephen, who are God’s blessing and a redeeming part of their stories. Austin and his family love spending time outdoors, going on family bike rides, rock climbing at their local climbing gym, and would describe themselves as “front yard people.” As a family they seek to love their neighbors in practical and creative ways. They also enjoy hosting friends at their home for good food, board games and bonfires.
Most importantly, Austin loves connecting with people who are all along the spectrum of their faith journey, whether they don’t believe they have one or have been following Jesus for a lifetime. He loves to laugh and have fun, and is passionate about seeing followers of Jesus share the incarnate love of God in practical ways to all those who God ordained to cross their path. You will often find him with people gathered around coffee or food, at his house or in the community, because there is nothing better than filling your stomach and your soul with the goodness of God’s blessings with others.
