Mark 12:28-31
During the next three weeks we are going to follow Jesus into the most simple and deep truth he spoke: The Great Commission and the Great Commandment. These are words for all who desire to follow him to come back to time and again. We begin with loving God. What does it mean to love God with our whole being, as Jesus says, “with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength?” Jesus says it is the most important commandment in the Bible. With 613 (but who’s counting) commandments in the Old Testament, Jesus does the impossible. He says, if you love God (and love your neighbor) you have basically fulfilled the Law. Let’s explore what this means for those who follow Jesus.
