So often, we come to prayer with a request or an answer in mind. Jesus tells us to ask, and it will be given; seek, and we will find; knock, and the door will be opened to us. But how many times have we pounded at a door in prayer for something, only for it to remain shut? This passage gives us a framework by which we might seek the kingdom of God and not our own kingdom. So, come and join us as we explore how we ask, seek, and knock for God’s kingdom to come and will to be done.

Matthew 7:7-11
Ask, Seek, Knock

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
