Deliver Us

Deliver Us

Does it seem odd that Jesus ends his teaching on prayer with temptation and the evil one? Jesus, though, is onto something that we often miss. If we pattern our prayers after Jesus, he knows the way of finding and following Him is a narrow road with many temptations and distractions. Join us as we learn to pray and live like Jesus.

Matthew 6:9-13

“This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,[a]
but deliver us from the evil one.[b]

Footnotes:
[a] The Greek for temptation can also mean testing.
[b] Or from evil; some late manuscripts one, / for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
