Luke 6:37-42
An unseen, but favorite, pastime for many of us is sizing up other people. We are quick to draw conclusions, make assumptions, and declare judgements. We easily cast a critical, even condemning, eye on others. But we are not as quick to turn that same gaze on ourselves. Jesus uses images of sawdust and planks to turn the tables on the way we view others and ourselves. Being in sync with Jesus calls for a new way of seeing and judging.
